Job of a flight dispatcher is generally in the airline operations center. A flight dispatcher also called an airline dispatcher, aircraft dispatcher, flight operations officer or flight follower who supports in

scheduling flight paths, considering into information regarding aircraft performance and loading, passage wind, thunderstorm, and turbulence forecasts, and airport situations.

The phrases ‘flight dispatcher’, ‘aircraft dispatcher’, ‘flight operations officer’ or ‘aircraft operations officer’ are greatly exchangeable depending on the region of the globe in which they are utilized. The

word ‘Aircraft dispatcher’ is used in  USA, while ‘flight operations officer’ or ‘aircraft operations officer’ is more general in Europe and Africa, and ‘flight dispatcher’ is usually used in the Middle East and Asian countries.

A flight dispatcher should hold a certificate issued by

the aviation authority (like the FAA-Federal Aviation Administration or DOT-Department of Transportation

in the United States) of the country in which the airline operate or have a base of operations. For qualifying for the certificate, a candidate must show wide familiarity of meteorology and of aviation in

general, to a level equivalent to the possessor of an Airline Transport Pilot-ATP certificate.

The written exams of FAA ATP and the FAA Dispatcher-ADX are alike. For airlines operating

under 14 CFR PART 135, dispatching duties and responsibilities are in fact designated to "flight followers". The key dissimilarity between a flight dispatcher and a flight follower is that second does not assign legal responsibility for the operation of a flight.

Besides, a flight follower is not required to attain a flight dispatcher's certificate, even though they are mostly expected to have a flight dispatcher's certificate by the airline in which they are employed

and mostly will not be engaged as a flight follower if they do not hold a flight dispatcher certificate.
